Baron Geisler breaks silence following reports of his alleged arrest in Cebu
Baron Geisler has issued a statement after he was reportedly arrested for alleged drunkenness.
According to a report by The Freeman, the actor was detained on Feb. 22 at around 3:50 a.m. at the Mandaue City Police Office station 6.
"Si Baron with his in-laws nag-inuman sa bahay lang nila, tapos maya-maya nalasing, nanghagis, nagmaoy. 'Yung brother-in-law nya, may pinakiusapan na tumawag ng police. So ayun, rumesponde ang mga pulis," Police Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro, public information officer of MCPO, said in Cebuano in an interview, as per the outlet.
The actor was later taken into custody for violating City Ordinance No.11-2008-434 (drunkenness) and released after he paid a fine of P500.
Villaro said that no one was hurt during the incident.
Geisler speaks out
"Breaking my silence. There's a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting," Geisler wrote on Facebook on Feb. 24. "Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion."
"I want to make it clear—I'm okay, and I'm seeking legal advice to address this properly," he continued.
In his Instagram stories, Baron shared photos of him and his wife Jaime Marie Geisler traveling to Manila.

"Back to work #newfilm," he captioned the Feb. 23 post.
Jamie also shared an Instagram story of Geisler at a script reading on Feb. 24.

In an interview with The Philippine STAR earlier in February, Geisler talked about his sobriety journey.
"Hindi siya laging madali. There are moments when I get tested, but I remind myself why I chose this path—family, faith, purpose," he said.
"Every day, I choose to be better, not just for myself but for the people I love."
In May 2022, he opened up about relapsing in December of the previous year in an interview with Julius and Christine Babao. He later got back to a 12-step program.
Geisler is currently starring in the action series Incognito alongside Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Kaila Estrada, and Ian Veneracion.
