SM Tickets is now SM Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster is entering the Philippines in a new partnership with SM Prime Holdings Inc.

In an announcement on Friday, SM said it will replace SM Tickets with SM Ticketmaster, a new platform that will handle ticketing for concerts, sports, and other live events.

It will service third-party venues and promoters, as well as SM Prime-owned facilities such as the SM Mall of Asia Arena, SMDC Festival Grounds, and SM Seaside Cebu Arena.

“Our goal is to make the ticket-buying experience more reliable, secure and convenient for customers,” SM Prime president Jeffrey C. Lim said.

“Through this partnership, we are combining Ticketmaster’s global ticketing technology with our local operating expertise to support the next phase of live entertainment in the Philippines,” he added.

Ticketmaster APAC regional vice president Jim Kotsonis said that this platform will make it "simpler" for fans to buy tickets and allow organizers to have "stronger tools to manage their events."

SM said that more details will be announced soon.

Ticketmaster is a global ticket sales and distribution company. Its features include SafeTix for secure digital ticketing, SmartQueue to handle high-demand sales, and advanced anti-bot technology.
