Filipina novelist Lualhati Bautista passes away at 77
Filipina writer Lualhati Bautista has passed away. She was 77 years old.
Her family, including her first cousins Sonny Ross Samonte and Maria Rosario, confirmed the news on Sunday, Feb. 12, saying that she died this morning.
“Our first cousin Lualhati Bautista died at 77 years old this morning,” Samonte wrote in a Facebook post.
“May the Lord grant you eternal peace, Lualhati or Ne as we used to call you. Everyone will know your name and shall recall your story,” Rosario said.
“I, together with my siblings, are deeply saddened by her passing,” she added.
Bautista is best known for her novels Dekada ’70 and Bata, Bata... Paano Ka Ginawa?.
