DOH warns against fake P30,000 'medical subsidies gift' claim spreading online
The Department of Health warned the public against believing a fake website and social media page claiming DOH is offering P30,000 worth of medical benefits.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the health agency wrote that the website and social media page invited readers to answer a questionnaire for a chance to receive P30,000 in medical assistance.
The website cited by DOH uses the domain name dohgovph-medicalfunds. DOH's official website uses doh.gov.ph.
In its statement, the Department reminded the public that medical assistance from the government can be claimed only through official channels.
"Ang mga opisyal na medical assistance ay makukuha sa pagpunta sa mga DOH hospitals, accredited health facilities, at pag-apply online gamit ang eMAIFIP sa gGovPH superapp," the statement read.
DOH advised against clicking any links and answering the questionnaire on the fake website. It also warned the public not to share the link to the fake website, or any website that asks for personal information, bank details, and other sensitive data.
"Ang lahat ng lehitimong programa, medical assistance, at anunsyo ng DOH ay inilalabas lamang sa opisyal nitong Facebook page at social media platforms," the statement continued.
Further, the Department asked the public to immediately report any dubious messages they receive online, and not to share them to avoid victimizing others.
