Nawat Itsaragrisil sues Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch for 'false accusations'
Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil is taking legal action against Miss Universe 2025 winner Fatima Bosch after she made false accusations against him that tarnished his reputation.
The official page of Miss Universe Thailand published a four-page police incident report detailing that Itsaragrisil has formally filed a criminal complaint against Bosch on Nov. 12.
While the exact offense has not been specified, the organization stated that the issue stemmed from an interaction between the two parties where Itsaragrisil allegedly insulted Bosch during a pre-pageant event.
"We wish to reaffirm that Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil never called Ms. Fatima Bosch a 'dumbhead.' What he said was 'damage,' which is clearly audible in the voice recordings that have already been widely circulated across various platforms," the organization stated.
According to them, the actual sentence was: “If you follow the order from your national director, you’re damage, if you not you can do it. I very happy and the good report will go to organize…..”
"However, when Ms. Fatima Bosch Fernandez walked out of the room, she immediately made a false accusation in front of the media by publicly claiming otherwise. Even after she later became aware of the facts, she did not apologize to Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil," the statement read.
"Instead, she continued to falsely accuse him in multiple interviews, seemingly for personal gain and to justify herself throughout the competition—after which she was ultimately crowned Miss Universe, as everyone is aware," it added.
The organization further slammed the beauty queen for continuing to give interviews, misrepresenting the incident and repeatedly defaming Itsaragrisil across various media channels.
They noted how additional legal action will be taken if any further defamatory actions are discovered.
The statement comes after Bosch's interview with ABC's Nightline was aired, where she recalled her confrontation with the pageant director that led to her walking out with her fellow candidates.
"He wanted like to humiliate me in front of all the people. And that was not okay. I told him, like, you can't talk me like that. You can't call me dumb. I was scared at that time," she said.
"I couldn't stay quiet, because in every case, your dignity is more important than any price or any dream that you have," she continued.
That incident was just the first of many drama and controversies that have plagued this year's edition of Miss Universe. Before Bosch was crowned as winner, there had already been accusations of rigging when a resigned judge for the pageant claimed that Mexico's win was already decided, as Miss Universe President Raúl Rocha has business links with Bosch's father.
However, the pageant said that "no impromptu jury has been created."
Bosch has yet to make a statement regarding Itsaragrisil's complaint against her.
