As the tensions in the Middle East continue, several airlines have temporarily suspended their flights to prioritize safety.

The Iran–US conflict, along with rising fuel prices, has created uncertainty for travelers. Airlines are closely monitoring the situation before resuming normal operations.

If you have upcoming flights, check below to see if your travel plans are affected:

airBaltic

airBaltic canceled all of its scheduled flights to and from Dubai until the end of October 2026, citing concerns over the security situation in the Middle East.

Affected passengers are being offered the option to rebook, free of charge, on any of the airline’s more than 80 destinations.

Air Canada

Air Canada earlier canceled its flights to and from Dubai and Tel Aviv until April 30. Affected passengers can either rebook the flight to the same destination at a later date without additional fees, rebook the flight to a different destination with no fees during the May 1 to Dec. 15 travel period, or cancel their booking and choose from its credit options.

British Airways

British Airways said this week that it will temporarily cancel flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Tel Aviv for the remainder of this month, while flights to and from Abu Dhabi will remain suspended until later this year.

Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific had also canceled all of its flights to and from Dubai until April 30. Affected passengers who are set to travel between Hong Kong and Dubai up to May 31 may rebook, reroute, or refund their tickets without fees.

Finnair

Finnish airline has canceled its flights to and from Doha until July 2 and Dubai until March 29 due to rising military tensions.

Passengers currently in Doha or Dubai are advised that, given the limited availability of commercial flights, rerouting may not be possible and should request a refund. Those in transit can contact Finnair customer service for alternative flights, though slots are filling up quickly.

Additionally, Finnair has temporarily suspended all flights passing through the airspace of Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Israel.

Japan Airlines

JAL also canceled its flights from Tokyo (Haneda) to Doha until March 31, and from Doha to Tokyo until April 1.

KLM

KLM likewise canceled its flights to Dubai until March 28. Affected passengers can rebook their tickets for free or request a refund via My Trip.

However, the airline remains available for the repatriation of stranded travelers, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lufthansa Group

Lufthansa has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Dubai until March 28.

Its airlines include Lufthansa, SWISS, ITA Airways, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings. It added that it will assess the possibility of operating individual flights despite the severe restrictions, subject to the approval of the authorities of the United Arab Emirates on a case-by-case basis.

Philippine Airlines

PAL earlier announced that flights to the selected Middle East destinations will be temporarily suspended until March 28. The mentioned destinations were Riyadh (RUH), Doha (DOH), and Dubai (DXB):

  • PR 654/655 Manila-Riyadh-Manila
  • PR 658/659 Manila-Dubai-Manila
  • PR 684 Manila-Doha
  • PR 685 Doha-Manila

"This precautionary measure is being taken considering the evolving security situation affecting parts of the Middle East and the resulting operational uncertainties in certain regional airspace corridors and airport operations," they wrote in a statement.

"The safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains Philippine Airlines’ highest priority. Given the current environment, PAL has determined that temporarily suspending these services is the most prudent course of action while conditions remain fluid," it added.

Affected passengers are entitled to free rebooking once flights resume, conversion of tickets into travel credits for future use, or full refunds, in accordance with applicable policies.

Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic will also pause its flight operations to Dubai until March 28. It added that they will be assessing the possibility of flying to Riyadh, which is suspended until March 25.
