The Stuttgart Open will see a battle of the Filipinas, as Pinay tennis phenom Alex Eala is set to take on Filipino-Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the first round.

Porsche Tennis released the draw for the clay court games on April 11. The tournament will feature Elena Ryabinka (world no. 2), Coco Gauff (world no. 3), Iga Swiatek (world no. 4), and more.

Eala, who's currently the world no. 46, comes fresh off the Linz Open, where she was edged out by Jelena Ostapenko (world no. 23) in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Fernandez, the world no. 25, fell to Diana Shnaider (world no. 19) in the third round of the Charleston Open.

This is the first time Eala and Fernandez will clash in a singles match, as they first faced head-to-head in the Abu Dhabi Open doubles in February.

The winner of the match between the two will face off against Jasmine Paolini (world no. 8) or a qualifier.

The games are set for April 13 and 14 in Germany.

ICYDK, Fernandez, 23, gets her Pinoy roots from her Filipina-Canadian mother. In a previous interview during the Hong Kong Open, the Fil-Canadian shared that when she meets Eala during tournaments, they talk a bit.

"Alex is a sweet girl, an amazing person, super kind," she said.

"On court, the few times I've watched her play, I know she's fierce, she's very determined. She plays really beautifully."
