The 12-month-old baby of influencer Lizzie Kieffer has passed away.

Kieffer announced the death of her child Lily on her Instagram page, calling it a "nightmare that we never could have ever imagined becoming our reality."

"Our hearts, our bodies, our souls ache for her as she was the purist of beings and brought light to every single space she filled," she said. "Our days are written before we were even formed, and in Lily's 374 days of life, she taught us more than I think many could in their lifetime."

Kieffer opened up about not having any answers to her questions, including "why this is God's plan for our lives." She added that they "will never fully understand this mystery until we see her again one day."

According to the social media personality, they found out that Lily had a large mass on her brain—one that they could not have known earlier as she didn't show any signs of having it. "We won't know more answers with many of these things for months until further testing is done," she added.

Sharing a photo of her little ray of sunshine, she wrote: "Lilybug, you are our angel. And we know you'll always be with us."

Kieffer asked the public to keep their family in their prayers during this difficult time. "We know they work and we feel them and the support. We appreciate it more than you know," she said.

Lily's death came just a few weeks after Kieffer announced she's expecting her third child with her husband. The couple also shares a daughter named Mia.

Kieffer has over 300,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares videos about pregnancy, postpartum, and pelvic floor workouts, among others.
