Boracay places 6th in Asia’s Best of the Best Beaches for 2026
Boracay is once again considered one of the best in the world!
American travel review website TripAdvisor ranked the Aklan island's white beach as sixth among its Best of the Best Beaches list in Asia for the year 2026.
"Boracay's most popular beach draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets," its review read. "It's a great place to swim and snorkel, and when you've worked up an appetite, lots of local dining and drinking joints are just steps away."
It also recommended the best activities to do in the summer destination such as scuba diving, full-day tours, nature and wildlife tours, and water tours.
According to its website, the recognition celebrates the highest level of travel excellence and is "awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period."
"Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone," it continued.
Meanwhile, The Departmengt of Tourism welcomed the distinction in a Facebook post.
"More than the recognition, what truly matters are the lives sustained through tourism. Behind every award are thousands of Filipino workers—our boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, transport operators, and micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, whose livelihoods depend on a thriving and sustainable tourism industry," DOT Secretary Cristina Frasco said.
Ahead of Boracay on the list are topnotchers Banana beach in Thailand, Kelingking beach in Indonesia, Radhanagar and Palolem beaches in India. The best beach in the world according to the 2026 list is Isla Pasion in Conzumel, Mexico.
Despite being closed down in 2018 for rehabilitation, Boracay has been bagging international awards even in recent years. In 2025, Condé Nast ranked Boracay beach fourth in its Traveler's top islands for 2025. The island top the list in 2022.
In 2023, Boracay placed tenth among Travel + Leisure's Top 25 Islands in the World for 2023. It was also named as one of Time Magazine's World's Greatest places in 2022.
