Boracay, the pristine gem of the Philippines, has once again captured the attention of globetrotters worldwide.

With its breathtaking white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant atmosphere, it comes as no surprise that Boracay has secured a spot in Travel + Leisure's highly esteemed list of the Top 25 Islands in the World for 2023

With its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant culture, Boracay continues to be a destination that captivates the hearts of travelers from all corners of the globe.

According to Travel + Leasure, nearly 165,000 readers cast their votes in the annual survey for the world’s best awards. The list of islands that made the world’s best list was judged based on the following criteria: Natural attractions/beaches, activities/sights, restaurants/food, people/friendliness, and value.

Boracay—“the island that never sleeps,” according to the website—placed 10th with a reader score of 92.94, just a few points above Paros, Greece. One reader even called the island “the best leisure vacation destination.”

Other islands included in the list are the Great Barrier Reef Islands, Australia (1st); the Maldives (2nd); Bali, Indonesia (3rd), among others.

After undergoing extensive rehabilitation efforts in 2018, Boracay has made an impressive resurgence, reclaiming its place among the world's premier island destinations.

The island has successfully implemented sustainable tourism practices while preserving its natural beauty, resulting in international recognition and accolades.

In February, the resort island placed 39th among 50 international destinations compiled by Big 7 Travel.

Then in October 2022, Boracay was also hailed as one of the best islands in Asia, alongside Palawan, by Condé Nast Traveler.
