Irresistible strawberry desserts in Manila (besides those trending donut sandwiches)
As an avid Instagram user and certified foodie, there’s one thing I’ve noticed: strawberries are in.
I, for one, have an obsession with strawberry donut sandwiches. I particularly love how their delectable fillings get along so well with glazed buns. Since I’ve been busy looking for other variants of my new favorite munchies, a trove of yummy desserts is mysteriously being introduced to me via the IG algorithm from time to time. I’m not complaining, though—some of them have brought my crazy strawberry dreams to life. They’re so lovely, I’ve got to share them with you.
Let’s go all-in with fresh strawberries, why don’t we? In this Merry Berry Overload cake (P12,000) by Cakes by Miriam, mouthwatering berries put the classic vanilla butter cake with whipped cream frosting out of sight. This, however, doesn’t mean they should be left ignored—such a combination is what makes this offering a one-of-a-kind adventure.
Feeling fancy? While 24k gold has no taste, it takes The Cloude Concept’s signature bouquet (P1,000-P5,500) with Belgian chocolate-covered strawberries to a whole new level. It’s perfect for when you want to celebrate life’s little victories… or "just because."
Tres leches is known for the delicious taste of cake soaked in three milk products: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. But what makes Wild Berry’s version a stunner (apart from its Instaworthy look) is the mixed goodness of strawberries, dulce de leche, and whipped cream on top.
“Nothing beats the classic and original fresh strawberry-filled croissants.” Crumbs and Grubs wrote this on Instagram, and I totally agree. It’s probably because the food brand has put up a drool-worthy take (P600) on this snack, where it carefully stuffs fresh strawberries, homemade sugar-free strawberry preserves, and local honey inside a flaky, buttery croissant.
