‘Beer influencer’ sheds off 40 pounds after 40 days of not eating food and only drinking beer for Lent
A man shed off 40 lbs. (18 kg) during the Lenten season, during which he didn't eat any food and only drank beer (along with a gallon of water) for over 40 days.
Del Hall’s crazy diet plan goes beyond weight loss. “I was looking forward to how my body felt and I was looking forward to raising some money,” he said in an interview with Fox News, referring to his fundraiser for individuals working in COVID-19-affected bars and restaurants.
“All those things came to fruition so I’m extremely happy with how this year turned out,” he added.
As of this writing, the brewery owner has collected a total of $12,496 (P607,624) from 80 donors. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to 43 establishments in his community, and at present, he is looking to raise more money so he “can put $500 additional dollars into their tip jars.”
Hall started his personal project on February 17 (Ash Wednesday) and concluded it on April 4 (Easter). He did the same thing last year amidst the coronavirus crisis, losing 50 lbs. (23 kg) and raising over $10,000 (P486,205) for a local charity.
It’s important to note, however, that such diet is not advisable. It's still best to keep your meals balanced each day, and find healthy ways to stay fit.
