LIST: Places in Metro Manila where you can marvel at gigantic Christmas trees
It’s that time of year again when the streets sparkle with lights and decorations in anticipation of Christmas. While the iconic parol symbolizes the Filipino holiday spirit, there is another decoration that has become just as essential to our festivities: the Christmas tree.
Across Metro Manila, malls, hotels, and other public places have gone all out this year, installing Christmas trees so grand that they feel like festive landmarks.
Whether you want to marvel at its size, get inspired by creative designs, or simply bask in the glow of twinkling lights, there’s a giant Christmas tree waiting for you somewhere in the Metro. Here’s a guide to the spots where you can soak up holiday cheer:
Grand Hyatt
Grand Hyatt's 24-foot Christmas centerpiece is a magnificent display of tradition, shining in rich metallic and jewel tones.
Following the theme "Gold. Gilded, Grand," the tree is decorated with oversized keys and ornate lockets reminiscent of a grand jewelry box. At its pinnacle is a bow beneath a radiant star.
The base is embraced by rich ruby velvet, flowing into a gilded arch adorned with intricate carvings that frame a regal Victorian lounge chair.
Solaire Resort
The spirit of Christmas also came alive at Solaire Resort Entertainment City with their stunning tree, which filled the lobby with a warm, festive ambiance through its sparkling ornaments and radiant lights.
The Manila Hotel
Another place where you can get into the Christmas spirit is at The Manila Hotel, which has transformed its Grand Lobby into a radiant showcase of Filipino holiday traditions.
In the center of the spotlight is their Christmas tree that's filled with handcrafted ornaments paying homage to Filipino craftsmanship through intricate accents such as woven baskets and horse figures. It is also decorated with large puso ornaments inspired by the traditional hanging rice wrapped in woven coconut leaves.
Shangri-La Plaza
Shangri-La Plaza didn't back down from the holiday spectacle either. This year, the mall unveiled a towering Christmas tree that hangs from the ceiling, giving a magical impression of it floating midair.
The tree is adorned with crystal brilliance and timeless ornaments of vivid gold colors, resulting in an enchanting holiday display.
Bonifacio Global City
Bonifacio Global City is once again bringing its A-game to the holiday season, transforming its open spaces into a dazzling Christmas playground.
This year, it installed a 40-foot Christmas tree sprinkled with ornaments depicting snowflakes, candy canes, and cute gingerbread men with red bows. At its peak shines a brilliant star, casting a golden glow that ties the entire display together.
The tree is also placed against a backdrop of gingerbread house installations, making for a picture-perfect background for your Instagram posts.
SM Megamall
You can put your faith that SM Megamall will never miss the chance to go big for the holidays, and this year’s Christmas tree is proof of that festive dedication.
Their centerpiece takes inspiration from the popular Pop Mart figures, filling it with decorations of Labubus wearing Christmas outfits and more—a playful and contemporary twist to the traditional holiday display.
Opus Mall
Opus Mall's towering 60-foot Christmas tree evokes the charm of a dreamy winter wonderland with its white ornaments and warm white lights.
