Heads up, travel junkies! The Philippines longest-running interactive tourism expo is all set to return to address the needs of all the revenge travelers out there.

After a two-year hiatus, the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), Inc. announced that the Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) will return for its 33rd year this coming September 30th.

"We’ve been waiting for a long time and now is the perfect time to travel again, support local businesses, and explore the Philippines and beyond,” shared PHILTOA President Ms. Fe Abling-Yu during the event's launch.

Here’s what we know so far about the biggest travel event in the country since the pandemic.

The three-day event will kick off on Sept. 30

The PTM will take place from September 30 (Friday) to October 2 (Sunday) at the SMX Convention Center Manila (Halls 1 – 4), Seashell Lane, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

Kicking off on Sept. 30, the three-day travel expo will feature over 200 exhibitions from local and international participants occupying four large halls of the SMX Convention Center. The expo will gather exclusive domestic and international travel packages, to offer value-for-money deals for all types of travelers, regardless of age and budget levels.

Amazing deals await business and leisure travelers, as well as solo and group package tours for families and barkadas.

The expo will highlight safe and sustainable travels

Taking into account how travel has changed since the pandemic started, the theme for the PTM this year is “Safe Travels.”

According to PHILTOA, with at least 70 million Filipinos fully vaccinated and tourism outlets now welcoming foreign tourists, eager tourists can look forward to a “safer and more relaxed environment” in the country's tropical destinations.

The PTM promises to partner with reputable agencies and businesses to offer packages that promote sustainable tourism and community engagement.

All regions will be represented

The expo aims to highlight new discoveries for travelers to explore from various regions and islands of the Philippines, including the “wonders of Luzon, the riches of Visayas, and the colors of Mindanao.”

PTM will showcase the award-winning islands of the country recognized around the world such as Boracay, Palawan and Siargao, as well as rising cultural hotspots where tourists can experience the rich and vibrant history and culture of Filipinos.

The event will have interactive booths highlighting the Philippine regions, with the biggest booth devoted to Mindanao.

Focus on local tourism

With international trips still difficult to plan, now is the best time for Filipino tourists to explore new places in the country or revisit their favorite local destinations.

Local tourism will take center stage at the expo with different zones designated for various travel interests:

  • Yellow Zone - MICE and Entertainment
  • Blue Zone - Beach, Cruise, and Marine Sports
  • Green Zone - Cultural and Agro/Farm/Eco-Tourism
  • Pink Zone - Health, Wellness, and Culinary travel

Each zone will provide package tours and promos from accredited tour and travel agencies, hotels and resorts, theme parks, airlines, as well as provincial and regional agencies.

ASEAN Tour Packages

Those who want to plan international getaways will also have a good reason to drop by the expo. Aside from domestic travel promos, visitors can also nab tour packages to neighboring Southeast Asian countries such as Bali in Indonesia, Siem Reap in Cambodia, and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Packages to the most in-demand Asian destinations like Japan, China, and South Korea will also available.
