Lechon, liempo, sisig, and more named in TasteAtlas' 50 Best Pork dishes

Six Filipino food items have been included in TasteAtlas' 50 Best Pork Dishes.

The online food and travel guide released its ranking for pork dishes on May 27, with Pinoy favorites such as lechon, lechon kawali, Bicol express, inihaw na liempo, adobong baboy, and sisig making the list.

Emerging as the best rated pork dish is Colombias lechona, followed by Puerto Rico's pernil, and Mexico's gringas, tacos al pastor, and cochinita pibil.

Lechon ranked 29th on the list, with TasteAtlas listing it's best to eat it at Mesa Filipino Moderne, Elar's Lechon, Vikings, CnT Lechon, and Rico's Lechon.

The dish is not just popular in the Philippines but in other countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Spain. "Some famous chefs even named lechon the best pig in the world, so it's definitely worth a try," TasteAtlas wrote.

Meanwhile, lechon kawali and Bicol express placed 33rd and 34th on the list, with inhaw na liempo, adobong baboy, and sisig ranking 40th, 42nd, and 46th, respectively.

Earlier in March, nine Filipino food placed in the online publication's 100 best street foods in Southeast Asia. This included lumpiang shanghai, bibingka, kwek kwek, maruya, taho, pancit bihon, iasaw, proven, and espasol.

Other Pinoy dishes have also made other rankings by TasteAtlas like sinigang in the 100 best dishes worldwide for 2023.
