Burger con yelo, anyone? Burger King Japan offers 'Ice Whopper' to beat the summer heat

Willing to try out a burger con yelo? Burger King Japan just unveiled an interesting new addition to their menu that's sure to fit the summer vibe.

To beat Japan’s summer heat, Burger King introduced their latest Ice Whopper as part of the chain’s limited-time “Natsukoi Set” or the Summer Love Set on August 10.

To further cool down their customers with the new set, the chilly burger also comes with an Ice Bottle, a frozen serving of a Coca-Cola drink.

While Burger King’s original whopper would only include the essential layers of vegetables, sauces, and a patty, the Japanese counterpart of the food chain decided to add a summer twist to the burger with a layer of shaved ice.

As odd as it may seem to others, Burger King’s idea for the shaved ice is intended to celebrate Japan’s reopening of their beach areas in the Kanagawa Prefecture after almost three years of closure.

Priced at ¥1,000 (P420), the Ice Whopper will only be sold in a pop-up stall at Umi no le Oasis on the Morito Kaigan beach from August 19 to 20, 2022.

Since the burger will be sold in limited quantities, people who wish to try a bite out of the unique frosty meal can reserve their orders online.
