Inasal na manok has been named the best dish in the Philippines in TasteAtlas' latest ranking of Top 100 Filipino foods.

The aggregated food guide released its list of best rated Pinoy dishes, which was recently updated on Oct. 16.

Topping the list with 4.5 stars is chicken inasal, which TasteAtlas described as a "unique Filipino grilled chicken dish" originating from Bacolod and as the "signature dish" of the Visayas region.

"It employs various chicken cuts marinated in a mixture of vinegar and numerous spices such as lemongrass, garlic, and ginger," the website read.

The food guide also recommended "iconic" chicken inasal, including dishes from Aida's Manokan in Bacolod, Nena's Beth at Manokan Country in Bacolod, Island Chicken Inasal in Bulabog, Balay Dako in Tagaytay, and Barrio Inasal in Iloilo.

Following the chicken dish is lechon in second place, leche flan in third, bulalo in fourth, and lumpiang shanghai in fifth.

Sinigang na baboy, tortang talong, lechon kawali, bicol express, and arroz caldo also make the list of best rated Filipino foods.

According to TasteAtlas, the ranking for the dishes is based on ratings from its audience. It said it used a mechanism to recognize real users and ignore bot, "nationalist or local patriotic" ratings, as well. About 3,845 ratings were recognized by the aggregate food guide.

In September, TasteAtlas also released a list of "worst Filipino dishes" with balut, inipit, pinipig, biko, kinalas, pinikpikan, suman, spamsilog, kilawin, and pochero making the list.
