As the excitement for Netflix's hit series Squid Game is still going strong, a teaser for its third and final season has been released that gives fans a glimpse at a new animatronic doll with a deadly twist.

Shortly after the second season had fans at the edge of their seat with its cliffhanger ending, Netflix teased fans with a 16-second clip of what they could expect in the upcoming continuation.

The video starts with the all-too-familiar animatronic doll named Young-hee, who was prominently used to eliminate players during the "Red Light, Green Light" game by tracking their movements.

However, it turns out that she has a male counterpart named Chul-su, who sports a bowl cut, a cap, and a polo shirt.

While there aren't any details yet on what role the new animatronic doll will serve in the show, the clip shows a railroad crossing sign turning from red to green, appearing to tease the format of the next games.

Young-hee and Chul-su are based on Korean textbook characters of the same name, which can be seen as counterparts to Western culture's famous Jack and Jill characters.

The second season of the survival thriller series ended on a high note following its release on Dec. 26 as it has now become the streaming giant's biggest television debut.

Variety reported that Squid Game Season 2 had 68 million views during its premiere week, beating Wednesday's 50.1 million views record in 2022.

The season also placed 7th on Netflix's list of most popular non-English television titles ever. The list is based on the titles' first 91 days of viewership.

Squid Game follows the story of 456 individuals buried in financial debt, playing a series of thrilling, deadly games. Only one winner would bring home the jackpot prize of 45.6 billion Korean won (P2 billion).

It became Netflix's most-watched series and the most-watched show in 94 countries, getting over 142 million member households and 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks of release.

In Season 2, Seong Gi-hun, or Player 456 (Lee Jung Hae), joins the deadly games again after winning the last season in a bid to save other players from harm. Original cast members joining Lee include Lee Byung Hun (The Frontman), Wi Ha-jun (police detective Hwang Jun-ho), and Gong Yoo (The Salesman).

New players completing the cast are Korean actors Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, and Choi Seung-hyun or T.O.P. of the K-pop group BigBang.

The final season is set to be released sometime in 2025.
