The sequel for The Princess Diaries—one of Anne Hathaway's most iconic movies—is confirmed to be in development!

On her Instagram account, the actress broke her silence on the news that The Princess Diaries 3 is happening as she officially announced that she is returning to reprise her role as Mia Thermopolis.

The award-winning actress posted a video of herself relaxing outside and holding up one finger while saying, "One," before a clip of her character saying, "Shut up," from the first film plays.

Hathaway then held up two fingers before inserting another scene from the movie of her on-screen grandmother Julie Andrews saying "Shut up!" She ended the video by holding up three fingers and saying, "Three," before adding, "Shut up."

Miracles Happen (When You Believe), the theme song for The Princess Diaries, then plays as Hathaway blows a kiss to the camera.

"Miracles happen," she wrote in the caption. "The fairy tale continues."

The third installment for the coming-of-age comedy film will be helmed by Adele Lim, who is best known for directing Crazy Rich Asians and serving as screenwriter for Raya and the Last Dragon.

"As a diehard fan of the original ‘Princess Diaries,’ I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide," Lim said in a statement to Variety.

The Princess Diaries films follow average teenager Mia Thermopolis as she finds out that she's of royal blood and set to take the throne of the fictional land of Genovia. Her grandmother, Queen Clarisse teaches her princess—and life—lessons before Mia eventually takes over the land in the second film.
