LOOK: Fil-Brit artist beabadoobee wore a Filipiniana during her first PH concert
Fil-Brit singer beabadoobe (real name Beatrice Laus) has concluded her first Philippine show—and she made sure to honor her local roots.
The 22-year-old took to the stage of the New Frontier Theatre in Cubao last Sept. 16 to serenade her fans with hits such as 'He Gets Me So High.,' 'Talk,' 'Together', and more. The concert is part of the Asian leg of her tour promoting her new album Beatopia.
In true indie/alternative fashion, the artist wore a long-sleeved modern rendition of a Filipinana, which she paired with a short skirt and knee-length black boots.
"I almost forgot how much time I spent in my childhood in the Philippines and coming back to sing for you guys was a strange and beautiful experience," she wrote on social media shortly after the show. "Thank you for coming to watch and to listen to me sing my songs."
The Iloilo-born singer also promised that her next show would be held in her hometown: "Iloilo next time."
Meanwhile, the London-based artist also shared some snaps exploring Manila before her concert proper.
In the photos, she can be seen posing in an empty jeep and touring local malls.
"Touring places like Asia and going back home to the Philippines, it’s like very uncertain territory," Bea shared regarding her Manila return.
"For me, it’s like a new world. It’s something like the feeling I had in Japan. The idea of being that close to my actual home is really comforting. So, I think I’ve been feeling really happy, which is a very rare thing to be on for. I think it’s because I’m going back home.”
