Netflix drops action-packed trailer for 'Tekken: Bloodline'
Heads up, Tekken fans! Netflix just released the official trailer of their animated adaptation of the iconic fighting video game franchise, and it has all the combo moves and techniques you want to see.
Blood will be shed, lines will be crossed, and evil will be unleased as the two-minute trailer is packed with gripping fighting scenes and action sequences.
The series will be centering on Jin Kazama, one of the main characters of the games, as he struggles to seek revenge on a monstrous evil who has destroyed everything important to him. Equipped with his family's self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, Jin seeks absolute power to accomplish his goal, which leads him to the King of Iron Fist Tournament, the ultimate battle that the world will be watching.
In a video that was shown during the Netflix Geeked event, Tekken chief producer Katsuhiro Harada said that the series will give fans a deeper look at Jin's backstory.
"Parts of the original story that have only been written in words will be shown, like the kind of life that Jin Kazama had with his mother, Jun, on Yakushima and what kind of conversations they had. Those are really my favorite scenes," Harada said.
Since Tekken has had the longest-running storyline in video games, Harada said that "die-hard fans of the original and new viewers as well will discover many things that will make them say 'so that's what happened!'"
First announced in March, Tekken: Bloodline will stream on Netflix on August 18.
