A new adventure may be on the way to Neverland as a live-action series based on Tinker Bell is reportedly in development at Disney.

In a report by Deadline, the company, through its streaming service Disney+, is cooking up a drama series that will feature an updated version of the classic character.

Titled Tink, the project is considered "high priority" and will have Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter, who both worked on Friday Night Lights, serving as writers and executive producers.

As the show is still in its early stages, plot details and cast members have yet to be revealed.

Plans for a live-action adaptation have been on hold at Disney since 2010. The company first announced it as a live-action romantic comedy that stars Elizabeth Banks. Later in 2015, Reese Witherspoon was reported to lead the project in another version of Tink.

While this is so, this isn't the first time that Tinker Bell was depicted in live-action. She was previously portrayed by actress Yara Shahidi in the 2023 live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy.

Tinker Bell was originally created by J.M. Barrie in his 1904 play Peter Pan, which was later adapted by Disney into the more recognizable 1953 animated film of the same name.

The character serves as Peter Pan's tiny fairy companion in Neverland, capable of making humans fly through her magical fairy dust. She has since become a widely recognized face of Disney and is considered the unofficial mascot of the company, next to Mickey Mouse.

Following her first appearance, she starred in her own series of films, specials, and shorts between 2006 and 2015.
