Demi Lovato hosts own talk show

Demi Lovato will be hosting their self-titled talk show, The Demi Lovato Show, slated for a July 30 release on the Roku channel, after its initial streaming platform shut down.

The singer will be joined by a guest for each 10-minute episode of the show discussing topics like activism, feminism, gender identity, sex and body positivity, mental health, and even interplanetary visitors.

“Some conversations can be difficult, but I’ve never been one to shy away from speaking candidly about things,” said Lovato.

“We wanted to create a space that normalizes living your own truth—where people can speak, engage and more importantly, learn, together,” they added.

Lovato has talked about their struggles over the past few years of their career. In their YouTube documentary Dancing With The Devil… The Art Of Starting Over, also the title of their 2021 album, Lovato spoke about how they dealt with rape, eating disorder, and near-fatal overdose.

“Demi Lovato is a voice of a generation and we’re beyond excited to elevate their voice with new audiences,” Brian Tannenbaum, Roku’s head of original alternative programming said.

The series was initially set to air on Quibi as announced last February 2020 before Quibi Holdings LLC shut down in October last year. The show makes the first Roku original after Roku bought Quibi's assets.

Lovato will also be an executive producer of the show alongside Scooter Braun, JD Roth, Adam Greener, Alison Kaye, Scott Manson, Todd Yasui, and Sara Hansemann.  It will be directed by Hannah Lux Davis and produced by GoodStory Entertainment and SB Projects.
