'Taxi Driver 3' to premiere in the second half of 2025

The third season of the South Korean series Taxi Driver will premiere in the second half of 2025.

Soompi reported that SBS, the show's network, made the announcement on Feb. 6.

Season 3 will reunite the main cast members Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram.

Writer Oh Sang Ho will continue penning the story while Kang Bo Seung of Dr. Romantic Season 3 fame will direct.

Renewal for a third season was announced after the Season 2 finale in April 2023.

At the time, it set a new record for getting the highest rating in any miniseries to air in South Korea.

Taxi Driver 3 is expected to sustain the signature thrills of the previous seasons while expanding the story's world with a more immersive storyline.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, Taxi Driver revolves around a mysterious taxi service that seeks "revenge on criminals who get away with their evil deeds."

The story takes inspiration from real-life heinous crimes in the country.

Season 1 aired in 2021 while Season 2 aired in 2023.

Taxi Driver 1 won the Outstanding Hallyu Drama Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards in 2021.

It won several prizes for its actors at the SBS Drama Awards in 2021 and 2023.
