Rita Daniela will be a part of the production on both dates, but she will only appear in the 3:00 p.m. show on May 3.
The play also stars Brianna Bunagan, Arnel Carrion, Chez Cuenca, Derrick Gozos, Rica Laguardia, Lani Ligot, and Iya Villanueva.
Liwanag sa Dilim is being staged at the RCBC Plaza in Makati. Tickets are priced from P2,200 to P3,900 which are available via Ticket2Me.
The show is an OPM-inspired hit musical like Eto Na! Musikal nAPO! and Himala: Isang Musikal. Directed and written by Robbie Guevara, the plot centers on a man named Elesi who was orphaned at a young age.
After his adoptive parents pass away, he goes on a quest to learn more about his mysterious past. Along the way, he befriends Cris, who joins him in his fight to help the oppressed and underprivileged.
9 Works Theatrical aims to honor Rico’s contributions and legacy in the Filipino music industry. The theatre company is also known for adapting musical plays in previous years, such as Tick, Tick… Boom!, Rent, and Once On This Island.
