The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines announced that the third iteration of its Korean Film Festival is back.

After being held back for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2022 Korean Film Festival is back in full swing with a five-day event happening from August 10 to 14. The event will not only offer screenings of the highly talked about South Korean films, but also grant a rare chance to meet the creatives behind two of the films in the festival.

To kickstart the festival is a press conference scheduled on August 10, 5 p.m. at the SM Aura Premier. A film screening of Deliver Us From Evil will follow suit at Cinema 2.

The selected audience at the opening day will also have the chance to ask questions to Director Hong Won-chan of Deliver Us From Evil and Director Lee Woo-jung of Snowball right after the end of the film.

The following day, moviegoers who missed the first day event will also get to have a ‘Talk with the Filmmakers’ on August 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the FDCP Cinematheque Centre Manila. Although unnamed, KCC Philippines also revealed that two esteemed Filipino film directors will also give insightful talks and share their experiences.

KCC Philippines will present the hidden cinematic gems that first graced Korean cinemas in 2020 and 2021, beginning August 11 to 14 at selected 5 SM Cinemas within Metro Manila.

Four films, including Ryu Seung-wan’s Escape from Mogadishu, Hong Sang-soo’s The Novelists’s Film, Park Ji-wan’s The Day I Died, and Hong Won-chan’s Deliver Us From Evil will be screened on August 11 and 13. Meanwhile, Lee Jang-hoon’s Miracle: Letters to the President, Lee Woo-jung’s Snowball, and Jo Eun-ji’s Perhaps Love will be shown on August 12 and 14.
