Jang Dong-yoon, Kim Seung-yoon to tie the knot in October
Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon are getting married later this year.
Dong-yoon announced the news on Aug. 25 through a handwritten letter shared on Instagram. According to SBS News, his agency BH Entertainment also confirmed that the couple will hold a private wedding ceremony with their families in attendance.
“This coming October, I will marry someone I have been with for a long time,” Jang wrote in his letter, as translated from Korean to English by the media outlet.
“There were many thoughts and considerations that went into deciding to get married,” Jang wrote. “As we spent a long time together and came to know each other in many different ways, we came to understand and cherish each other even more.”
The actor added that he and Seung-yoon "have decided to be there for each other as our closest confidants and to build a fun and happy life together."
The announcement came as a surprise to fans as the couple had kept their relationship private.
According to The Korea Times, the Korean stars, who have a five-year age gap, first worked together on the 2023 short film Please Be My Ear, which marked Dong-yoon's directorial debut.
Dong-yoon made his acting debut in 2016 and went on to star in dramas including School 2017, The Tale of Nokdu, Daily Dose of Sunshine, and Queen Mantis.
Seung-yoon, meanwhile, appeared alongside Dong-yoon in The Tale of Nokdu and has taken on roles in films and television dramas, including Crash and Please Take Care of the Eagle Brothers.
