Funko is opening its first licensed store in PH in June

Attention, toy collectors! You can soon find and score more Funko Pops in the country, as the pop culture brand announced that it's opening its first licensed store in the Philippines.

The shop, opening later in June, will be located at the SM Mall of Asia and will feature exclusive product drops, interactive zones. You can also cop collectibles like the iconic Funko Pop! line, Bitty Pop!, Loungefly, and Manila-exclusive apparel.

According to Funko CEO Cynthia Williams, the opening of the store in the Philippines, the first in Southeast Asia, shows their investment in the country's passionate fanbase.

"We’ve seen great success with similar licensed stores in the Middle East, and we’re excited to bring that same momentum here. By deepening our local retail footprint and enhancing direct-to-consumer experiences, we’re eager to inspire connection, self-expression, and fun for our fans—wherever they are in the world.”

Filipino fan communities rank among the most engaged audiences for the toy brand, Funko said in a press release.

Currently, Funko pops are available at collectible stores like Filbar's, Co., Kramer Toy Warden, and more.

Funko, an American company, was founded in 1998 to create nostalgia-themed toys. It expanded to making vinyl figures—in its distinct bobblehead style—of different characters from TV, movies, comics, anime, and video games, as well as athletes, music icons, and other personalities.

Hobbyists can also get figurines of themselves or their loved ones customized.

In 2018, the brand created a Jollibee Pop! of the popular local fast food chain's mascot.
