Heads up, Trese fans and toy collectors!

Funko, Inc., has launched new collectible vinyl figures of Alexandra Trese, the protagonist in the hit comic book series inspired by Philippine mythology, which was adapted into the country's first-ever Netflix anime series.

The Alexandra Trese Funko Pop! figures will be available exclusively at Philippine comic book retailer, Filbar’s stores and online shop starting this Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021.

The Funko Pop! collectible will come in two variants: a regular colored figure priced at P800 and a limited edition Black and White Chase figure, which can only be bought as part of a six-piece bundle of "Trese" Pops.

According to Filbars, the collectibles will be released under Funko’s POP! Comics line, which has previously produced several figures based on iconic comic book series, including Archie, Garfield, and Hellboy.

In response to inquiries on their social media page, Filbar's said that there will be "no limits on how many pieces you can buy for yourself."

The Trese vinyl figures will be available in all Filbars branches nationwide.

Trese is set in a fictional version of the Philippines where mythological beings live among humans. The series’ main character, Alexandra Trese finds herself taking on the criminal underworld of supernatural creatures.

Originally created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, the comic book was first released in photocopied format in 2005 before being reprinted as a trade paperback and in graphic novel format by National Bookstore and Visprint. It was recently rereleased by the US-based ABLAZE Publishing and adapted into a Netflix Original Anime, which aired earlier this year.

“We’re ecstatic that Funko has collaborated with us to bring this fan-favorite comic character into the Pop! multiverse. Trese fans have been clamoring for a Trese Pop! for many years now,” said Jacob Cabochan, co-owner of Filbar’s, the Philippines’ oldest chain of comic and collectibles stores.

“Early on, a lot of fans started to make their own custom Trese Pop! figures. It's great to finally have the official figure which will provide protection from Aswang... well, maybe it will," recalled Trese writer and co-creator Budjette Tan.

“This is for the fans who have always wished for their own little Trese figure, “ added Trese artist and co-creator Kajo Baldisimo. “May it constantly remind them of the magic of the comics.”

Funko, the leading pop culture consumer products company, has produced several Philippine-exclusive Pop! figures which have become highly sought after collectibles in recent years.

Trese will be part of an ever-expanding line of Filipino Pop! collectibles, which includes fast food icon Jollibee, comics hero Darna, sports icon Manny Pacquiao, Ateneo Blue Eagles and De La Salle Green Archers mascots, and even mythical creatures like the Aswang, White Lady and Siyokoy.

Known for their line of collectible Pop! figures and bobbleheads, Funko has over 150 licenses spanning the most popular films, TV shows, and comics, as well as sports and music icons.

The Trese: Alexandra Trese Funko POP! will be available at Filbar's stores and at shop.filbars.online starting Nov. 27, 2021.
