BLACKPINK's Lisa joins season 3 of 'The White Lotus'

BLACKPINK's Lisa is entering her actress era!

The girl group member has been announced to be part of the cast of HBO's Emmy-winning series The White Lotus.

For her role in the series, she'll be credited under her given name, Lalisa Manobal. Production for the upcoming season begins in February in Koh, Phuket, and Bangkok as HBO partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand for the filming of the series' third season.

Aside from Lisa, other actors announced to be part of The White Lotus season 3 include Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Dom Hetrakul, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Julian Kostov, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong and Aimee Lou Wood.

The White Lotus will mark Lisa's acting debut and it makes her the second BLACKPINK member to be part of an HBO series, with the first being Jennie in The Idol.

In addition to being a BLACKPINK member, Lisa released an album as a solo singer in September 2021.

Created and directed by Mike White, The White Lotus first premiered in July 2021, set in Hawaii. It has earned 20 Emmy nominations across 13 categories and won 10 of them, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Meanwhile, its second season was set in Sicily, garnering much critical acclaim as well.

The White Lotus is a social satire where guests and employees of a fictional resort chain become affected by various psychosocial dysfunctions.
