HBO's 'Harry Potter' series renewed for second season
Another installment of HBO's TV adaptation of Harry Potter is on the way.
As reported by BBC, HBO confirmed the news, with filming scheduled to start in September.
While there is no title and release date yet, the next season is believed to adapt The Chamber of Secrets, J.K. Rowling's second Harry Potter book.
Also announced is writer Jonn Brown's role as co-showrunner alongside showrunner Francesca Gardiner.
"I've loved working with Jon from the very first day we met... I have huge admiration for his writing, but he's also a brilliant collaborator and a lovely person," Gardiner described Brown.
"Seems you're never too old to get your invitation to Hogwarts," Brown said while thanking Gardiner and HBO for believing in him.
HBO earlier revealed its plan to adapt all seven books in Rowling's fantasy novel series over the span of a decade.
The first season of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, is set to premiere this Christmas season. It will star newcomers Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
