Video game giant Nintendo has launched an official website for news and updates for residents of the Philippines.

The website https://www.nintendo.com/ph went live on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022.

“Hello, this is Nintendo. We are pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Nintendo Official Website’ for residents of the Philippines. We will provide various information about Nintendo, including Nintendo Switch console, game software, and characters from game series such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda,” Nintendo wrote on the first entry on the website.

Currently the website serves as a support site, and will provide news and information about Nintendo's new games and lineup of products available in the country.

As reported by IGN Southeast Asia, Nintendo first made its presence official in Southeast Asia with the launch of a Singaporean website in October last year, which was followed by a Thai-language website and official official online store in December.

A separate website for Malaysia was also launched on Tuesday along with the Philippnines, signalling the company’s moves to capture the growing gaming market in Southeast Asia.

In case you missed it, the video game giant also recently launched an official Nintendo SEA YouTube channel and a Facebook page, which contains various updates about their upcoming games as well as a slew of new video game trailers.

While there’s no membership and local e-shop yet available on the Philippine version of the Nintendo website, Filipino gamers are hopeful to eventually see this in the future, especially for the purchase of digital games in local currency.
