WATCH: Sophia Laforteza's group KATSEYE releases first single 'Debut'
Come through, EYEKONS! KATSEYE, the new girl group under HYBE Labels with Filipino talent Sophia Laforteza, just dropped their first single Debut.
The six-member girl group released their song with a music video on Friday, June 28, showcasing their singing talent and groovy dance moves.
In one part of the music video, KATSEYE member Megan can be seen in front of a blackboard with Debut’s lyrics and messages written in different languages, including Tagalog.
KATSEYE was formed from the audition program The Debut: Dream Academy under South Korea’s HYBE Labels, which takes charge of groups like BTS, SEVENTEEN, and NewJeans. It's also under the United States’ Geffen Records, which houses talents like Olivia Rodrigo and Kali Uchis.
In November 2023, Laforteza was confirmed as one of its members after securing a spot in the final round of the competition.
Aside from Laforteza, KATSEYE also consists of Lara, Megan, and Daniela from the USA; Manon from Switzerland; and Yoonchae from South Korea.
Following Debut, the group is set to release their second single in July and their first EP titled SIS (Soft is Strong) in August.
