'Bar Boys: The Musical' to return in October 2025
Did you miss the original run of the Bar Boys musical? Then here's some good news: the play is set to return to the stage in October later this year.
Following two sold-out runs last year, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative announced that they will bring back the hit musical at the Hyundai Hall, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University.
Audiences can expect a "bold, reworked revival" featuring an entirely new staging, promising a fresh and exciting experience.
"The creators of Bar Boys: The Musical have always envisioned the show on a larger stage. In 2024, they were given the time and space to focus on what lies at the core of any musical—its story and music," Barefoot Theatre Collaborative said.
"With a strong foundation in place, they are now able to reimagine the production at its intended scale. Almost every element — from blocking and choreography to lighting and design—will be newly realized, allowing scenes and musical arrangements to evolve with greater depth and intention," they continued.
Benedix Ramos, Alex Diaz, Jerom Canlas, and Omar Uddin will reprise their roles as the four lead characters Erik, Chris, Torran, and Josh. Sheila Francisco will also be returning to portray Justice Hernandez.
Mikko Angeles, who served as co-director of the original musical, will also return to lead the creative team.
The rest of the cast will be announced in the coming weeks.
Bar Boys: The Musical will open on Oct. 24 for a limited engagement only. Tickets start at P999 and will be made available through Ticket2Me beginning June 28 onward.
If you've seen the show before, you can purchase tickets at 30% off on select performances through an exclusive early access sale from June 13 to 27. This special discount applies to Orchestra Seats for the 7:30 p.m. shows on Oct. 24-26.

Bar Boys: The Musical follows the journey of four friends—Erik, Chris, Torran, and Josh—hoping to become lawyers and change the world. But as the realities of school and life set in, their friendship, values, and faith are put to the test.
It is based on the 2017 comedy-drama film of the same name, which starred Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano.
