Pepe is known TV, movie, and theater actor, probably best known for his role as Benny in the ABS-CBN show "Ang Probinsyano." On the theater stage, he is known for playing Tolits in the popular musical “Rak of Aegis.” He has a number of movies as well, most notably the romance films "Sakaling Hindi Makarating" with Alessandra de Rossi and "The Hope Romantic" with Ritz Azul, and the comedy "Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap."
It was announced last week that Toni will play the title role in the Philippine remake of "My Sassy Girl," the popular 2001 South Korean romantic-comedy movie considered as one of the first major successes of the Hallyu wave. It became a box office success not just in South Korean but also in neighboring Asian countries, such as Japan, China, and the Philippines.
TinCan has yet to announce when and how "My Sassy Girl" will be screened.
However, in a recent vlog, Toni expressed her wish to screen the movie in theaters. TinCan, which is producing the local remake of “My Sassy Girl,” is Toni’s film production company.
Toni said she considers “My Sassy Girl” as her “dream film,” saying she wanted to star in “My Sassy Girl” since 2006, when she first saw the film upon the recommendation of director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
