Think you can do better than our country’s Olympic athletes in various sports?

Get ready to go for gold right on your couch with these video games celebrating the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on all major gaming platforms.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game, developed and published by Sega, was originally released in Japan for the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 back in July 2019. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic delaying the start of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the game was only just recently released outside of Japan in June 2021 including on Microsoft Windows, Stadia and Xbox One.

The sports video game features 80 playable national teams, including the Philippines. Players can craft their own dream Olympian, and play against fictional players in any mode, as well as licensed players by playing vs top athlete in training mode.

Compete across 18 Olympic events such as basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, judo, sport climbing, table tennis, long jump, track and field and freestyle swimming, among others.

Test your skills with your friends and family at home with couch co-op in the wide variety of accessible, arcade style sports as you compete to win the gold. Players can also take the Olympic experience online with the 2-8 Multiplayer mode.

The game has also gotten a fun costume option where players can opt to play in a mascot costume of SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog, one of Japan's most popular video game icons, as they take on various sports challenges.

Iconic characters from Nintendo and SEGA franchises have also come together to provide players stuck at home with fun mini-games based on real-life sports.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is the sixth crossover sports and party game for the Nintendo Switch that features a variety of Olympic events. Returning events from previous Mario & Sonic titles include boxing, soccer, swimming, and gymnastics, while new ones include karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing. The game, celebrating this year's Tokyo 2020 Olympics, also has an Arcade edition.
