Sadako Yamamuro, the long-haired ghost from Japanse horror movie franchise Ringu (The Ring) has launched her own official YouTube channel.

The YouTube channel called Sadako Well Living launched on Saturday (March 5, 2022) promises to share Sadako’s unique daily life when she’s not spreading her evil curse.

In the first video, Sadako introduced herself and stated that the channel will show off the “teenage girl” side of her character. She then gave a room tour of her Japanese-styled home, where she showed off the box type television set where she crawled out of while taking a selfie and the iconic well where she sleeps.

She also revealed plans for future activities for her vlog, incuding playing video games, cooking, morning routines, Q&A segments, and more, according to a translation on the Japanese site Famitsu.

Sadako's YouTube channel was launched by Kadokawa pictures as part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming Sadako DX movie, the fourteenth entry in the horror franchise that has lasted 24 years.

Sadako DX stars Koshiba Fuka as Ichijo Ayaka, a college student with a 200 IQ who tries to unravel the curse of Sadako. The upcoming film is directed by Kimura Hisashi and is slated for release in Japanese theaters sometime this year.

Ringu, popularly known internationally as The Ring, is a horror franchise based on Suzuki Koji’s novel of the same name published in 1991.

The first main film, The Ring, which debuted in 1998 depicts how viewers die after a certain period of time after watching a “curse video” on VHS that popularized J-horror internationally. The appearance of Sadako crawling out of a TV screen had a great impact on Japan and around the world, and cemented Sadako's status as a fixture in pop culture and horror.

The film received a Hollywood remake in 2002, which spawned two sequels.

The Japanese franchise of The Ring now has eight films, a television movie and series, and even a Freddy vs. Jason-styled reboot Sadako vs. Kayako crossover film with the Ju-on (The Grudge) horror franchise. All in all, Sadako stars in a whopping 14 films, including Sadako DX

Sadako DX will be released in Japanese theaters in fall of 2022.

Sadako is also set to appear in the survival video game Dead by Daylight, which will be released on Wednesday, March 9. Sadako teased that she will be playing the video game live on her channel, as her character becomes its new killer in its Ringu collaboration, "Sadako Rising."
