Horror title 'Dead by Daylight' free on PS4
Halloween is the greatest time of the year. Next to Christmas, the spooky season is filled with as much fun and anticipation. Who doesn't love a good scare?
All right, maybe not everyone is into scares, but we can all agree that free stuff is always most welcome.
The PlayStation Store just gave out a special free Halloween surprise for all of its Asian account members by making online multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight: Special Edition free for a limited time.
Some caveats, though. According to the official Dead by Daylight Facebook page, this may only be a "free weekend," meaning the title may just be free-to-play up to Nov. 1 with another indicator for "sales" up to Nov. 2. This may mean that the title is free to keep for those who can avail of it by Monday.
Also, you will need a PlayStation Plus account to fully enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game. The same free-to-play offer is also available on Steam for PCs which also ends this weekend.
For the undecided, here's a synopsis of the game:
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed. Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey. The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.
Whichever way you play, this is a fun title to enjoy with friends especially if you all want to have a virtual get-together to celebrate this awesome Halloween holiday weekend.
