WATCH: Jonas Brothers search for a new opening act in 'Camp Rock 3' official teaser
It's on again at the famous music camp as Disney has dropped the first teaser for Camp Rock 3, 18 years after the release of the original film.
The new movie brings back the Jonas Brothers as Connect 3 for another musical adventure. Set before the fictional band's highly anticipated reunion tour, Shane (Joe Jonas), Nate (Nick Jonas), and Jason (Kevin Jonas) Gray return to Camp Rock after losing their opening act.
"[Connect 3] returns to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested—leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances," the official logline read, per Variety.
The teaser also introduces newcomer Sage, played by Liamani Segura, as she dreams of earning the chance to perform alongside Connect 3. It previews the film's first original song, One Beat Away, which has also been released.
Directing the film is Veronica Rodriguez, who also helmed The Slumber Party. The script was written by Eydie Faye, while Jamal Sims handled the choreography. Demi Lovato, who previously starred as Mitchie in her breakout role, joins the Jonas Brothers as an executive producer, alongside Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, and Gary Marsh.
Returning cast member Maria Canals-Barrera as Connie, Mitchie's mom. Other newcomers include Malachi Barton (Fletch), Lumi Pollack (Rosie), Hudson Stone (Desi), Casey Trotter (Cliff), Brooklynn Pitts (Callie), Ava Jean (Madison), and Sherry Cola (Lark).
The original Camp Rock, which premiered in 2008, followed aspiring young musicians as they spent their summer at a music camp. It spawned a second movie just two years later.
The original stars recently reunited during the Jonas Brothers' New Jersey concert, where the trio and Demi performed beloved songs from the films, including This Is Me and Wouldn't Change a Thing.
Camp Rock 3 premieres Aug. 13 on Disney Channel and the next day on Disney+. Watch the official trailer below:
