WATCH: Trailer for ‘Halo’ live-action TV series drops during The Game Awards 2021
The first look trailer for the upcoming live-action Halo TV series dropped during The Game Awards Thursday (Dec. 9), ahead of the show’s streaming debut in 2022.
Paramount Plus debuted the one-minute long trailer following a brief teaser last month.
Halo will star Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as the armored super-solider Master Chief, while Jen Taylor will reprise her role from the game as the AI companion, Cortana.

The mysterious new trailer still doesn’t give fans too much of an idea of what to expect from the upcoming show. According to Paramount, the TV series is set to take place in the same universe as the Halo games and will see humanity face off against the alien forces of the Covenant.
However, it's still not clear whether the series will be trying to adapt the games directly or tell its own story within the world of the franchise.
The first trailer mostly focuses on establishing shots of the landscapes and a few quick shots of Halo’s cast, including Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of both Cortana and the Spartan super-soldier program.
As reported by The Verge, Halo was first announced back in 2018, and was originally set to air on Showtime. However, production on the series was ultimately delayed following the pandemic, and the series was shifted to become a streaming exclusive on the Paramount Plus streaming service.
