Tech roundup: HUAWEI Mate XT, Osmo Mobile 7 gimbal, and other cool February gadget releases
The tech world has a lot of cool things in store this February.
In addition to the usual smartphones, some brands are going all out with their innovations. For instance, Huawei recently unveiled the world's first tri-folding smartphone while DJI unveiled its newest gimbal, the Osmo Mobile 7 series. Additionally, Apple is expected to launch its newest budget iPhone.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design

Huawei had something exciting up its sleeve as it unveiled its first-ever triple foldable smartphone, the Mate XT. The tech company said this innovative design was conceptualized as early as five years before its launch.
Closed, this device features a 6.4-inch display, which is typical for a smartphone. When you unfold the first panel, you get a bigger 7.9-inch screen, which you can further expand to a 10.2-inch display.
The foldable has three cameras at its rear led by a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. In front, there's an 8MP selfie camera housed in a hole-punch camera. It's also powered by a Kirin 9010 chip running EMUI 14.2, 16GB RAM+1TB internal storage, and a 5,600mAh battery with Huawei SuperCharge.
So far, Huawei says the phone has hit 3 million pre-orders ahead of its release.
DJI Osmo Mobile 7

There's a new gadget that will come in handy for content creators. DJI recently launched the Osmo Mobile 7 Series, a lineup of gimbals for smartphones with improved three-axis stabilization and intelligent tracking.
The first in the line, the Osmo Mobile 7P features a more powerful three-axis stabilizer and a new Multifunctional Module, which can track subjects with ease via the DJI Mimo app. It also combines intelligent tracking, mic reception, and lighting features into one device, according to DJI's website.
Meanwhile, the Osmo Mobile 7 is touted as the lightest in its class, weighing about 300g. It's also more affordable than the 7P and comes with a built-in tripod and support for the Multifunctional Module (sold separately).
The Osmo Mobile 7 is priced at P4,599 while the Osmo Mobile 7P costs P7,499.
HONOR X9c Smart 5G

A new variant of the HONOR X9c, which the brand touts as its "toughest" phone, is hitting shelves.
This device comes at a relatively lower price than the HONOR X9c but shares the same durable build.
According to tech site GSMArena, the phone features a 6.8-inch display, a dual rear camera with 108MP wide and 5MP ultrawide shooters, and a 5,800mAh battery life.
The phone will be available exclusively on Shopee starting Feb. 20.
ASUS Zenbook 2025 series

This February, ASUS Philippines refreshed its Zenbook series with new AI laptops including the Zenbook Duo and Zenbook 14.
The Zenbook Duo is a dual-screen laptop with two full-size OLED touch screens. Its keyboard is detachable, and the monitors come with a built-in kickstand so you can work with ease while viewing both 14-inch displays. Despite its form factor, this laptop is slim at 14.6mm and light at 1.35kg. It's also powered by a 75Wh battery and a comprehensive array of ports including Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Meanwhile, the Zenbook 14 is available with either Intel Evo Edition or AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processors. Both laptops boast AI power in tackling tasks as well as an ultraportable and elegant chassis.
The ZenBook Duo is priced at P139,995, while the Zenbook 14 with Intel chips starts at P89,995. Pricing for the Zenbook 14 with Ryzen chips has yet to be announced.
