Eyeing a gadget upgrade this month?

Valentine's Day may be over, but who says you can't shower your loved ones or yourself with a heartfelt gift like a shiny new gadget? This February, tech companies are bringing their latest smartphones, wearables, and tablets to the Philippines, with some featuring cool features like a foldable screen.

If you're looking for new gadgets and accessories for your next upgrade, PhilSTAR L!fe has rounded up some of the latest tech releases for you to check out.

HONOR Magic V2

Want a chic phone that also doubles as a tablet? HONOR Philippines will soon launch the HONOR Magic V2 in the country. The smartphone maker calls its foldable the "world's thinnest" measuring at 9.9mm when folded and weighing 231g.

According to HONOR, this device is durable yet lightweight with its hinge able to endure 400,000 folds and its nanocrystal glass offering 10 times greater drop resistance. Other features to look out for include two displays—an inner folding and an external one—a 5,000mAh battery, 66W charging, and 120Hz refresh rate for the screens.

The HONOR Magic V2 is launching on Feb. 21, 6 p.m. and you can catch it live on Facebook.

In addition to the foldable, the HONOR X8b is also set to be unveiled in the Philippines.

OPPO Reno11 Series 5G

Earlier in February, OPPO introduced its latest portrait expert smartphones, the Reno11 5G and Reno11 Pro 5G, which come with a 50-megapixel main camera, 32-megapixel telephoto, and 8-megapixel wide lens.

These phones are also equipped with the Portrait Expert Engine, which renders skin tones naturally, removes blemishes, and optimizes image backgrounds so the bokeh effect in Portrait mode looks more natural.

The Reno11 5G is priced at P24,999 while the Reno11 Pro 5G is available for P31,999.

HUAWEI Watch 4, MatePad, and nova Y72

On Feb. 16, HUAWEI launched a trio of new products for those looking to create an ecosystem for their gadgets.

First in the lineup is the HUAWEI Watch 4, a smart wearable that mixes fashion and function with its sapphire glass watch face and advanced health features, which include respiratory checks, workout monitoring, and comprehensive cardiopulmonary health ECG analysis. The watch can also be equipped with an eSim so users can answer calls from their wrist and access other apps like Spotify and in the future, GCash.

Meanwhile, the new HUAWEI MatePad PaperMatte Edition features a display with the tactile feel of traditional paper so it feels like you're jotting down on a notebook. Additionally, the PaperMatte screen also eliminates glare, reflections, and fingerprints for comfortable viewing for extended study sessions.

Last on the list is the nova Y72 which boasts a 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W HUAWEI SuperCharge. The phone also comes with a new X Button for easy access to commonly used apps. Other specs include a 6.75-inch display, 50MP camera, and EMUI 12.
