Finally have Instagram Music? Here’s how to navigate the latest roll-out
For far too long, the pop-up of “Instagram Music Isn't Available in Your Region” has plagued Southeast Instagram users, but now, Filipinos are finally seeing a local rollout of the coveted feature.
Introduced in 2018, Music has been a staple Instagram Story feature wherein snippets of songs can be played for one’s limited-time content, with the addition of running lyrics. With Instagram adding new songs every day, it’s become a favorite for many users.
Are you part of the lucky few who finally have Instagram Music? Here’s how to navigate the new feature - well, new for us.
When posting an Instagram story, a music icon will automatically appear between the Save and Filter toggles.
When clicked, it will showcase a few song selections.
The “For You” bar will be based on your previously shared Spotify and Apple Music tracks, while “Browse” will show Instagram Music’s full collection.
In “Browse,” you can look up an artist name or song title and suggestions will pop up.
Once a song is chosen, you can customize it in a number of ways.
First, you can have the song play a snippet running from five to fifteen seconds.
You can then either show the selected lyrics in a running, typing, or scrolling format —or simply the cover of the album.
Once posted, the song will automatically play along with the story. Users can also repost an old photo or video and add Instagram Music for that extra touch.
Happy IG Music playing!
