WATCH: Manny Paquiao, other athletes show their strength, grit in 'Physical: Asia' teaser
The official teaser for Physical: Asia is here.
In the clip, elite athletes from eight countries undergo a series of challenges that would test their endurance and strength. It also shared a glimpse of the intense grit of the players, determined to claim the victory.
In the voice-overs, a player said, "We'll fight with everything we have," while another quipped, "They'd better watch out, or they're gonna get shipwrecked."
Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao also said in the teaser, "Makuha namin 'yung champion." Team Philippines comprises Pacquiao, national team sambo athlete Mark Mugen, strongman Ray Jefferson Querubin, national team rugby player Justin Coveney, national team hurdler Robyn Lauren Brown, and CrossFit athlete Lara Lorraine Deang Liwanag.
Other participating countries are Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Australia.
Leaders of their respective six-man teams are UFC trailblazer Dong-hyun “Stun Gun” Kim (Korea), MMA fighter Yushin Okami (Japan), former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker (Australia), Muay Thai world champion Superbon (Thailand), traditional wrestling star Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan (Mongolia), Four-time oil wrestling champion Recep Kara (Türkiye), and physique powerhouse I Igedz “Executioner” (Indonesia).
Unlike in the previous edition, where only one athlete would claim the victory, Physical: Asia will be a team game.
The original two-season Physical: 100 first aired in 2023. It received critical acclaim for "shattering the gender barrier" as women also competed on par with male athletes. It also made history as the first Korean reality TV show to top Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV Series list.
Physical: Asia is set to premiere on Netflix on Oct. 28. Watch the official teaser below:
