LOOK: 'Drag Race Philippines' reveals new 'sickening' werkroom for season 2
Mabuheyyy! Drag Race Philippines is back with a new look!
On July 19, reality show Drag Race Philippines shared on social media a first look at its "sickening" season 2 "werkroom," where queens create their looks and prepare for their main challenge, mini-challenges, and runway presentations.
"S2 Werkroom in one word: BOOGSH! Here’s your first look at #DragRacePH’s sickening Season 2 Werkroom!" Drag Race wrote on their Instagram post.
Many of the design features from Season 1's werkroom were carried over into Season 2's version, including the drapes that were hanging on the entrance of the Werkroom in the colors of the Philippine flag and some local weaving patterns on the wall.
With its vibrant colors and artsy finishing touch, fans couldn't help but praise the show for listening to its viewers' clamors for a better communal space with better production for the new season.
“Season 1 queens were cramped in that tiny space for season 2 queens to prance around comfortably but seriously, so excited for this new season,” Jio Paz Araullo (@jioaraullo), a drag enthusiast commented.
Digital creator Franc Filamor also commented: “This looks much better. Now if only lighting, sound, and editing improve, PH can be on par with the other franchise in terms of production.”
One of the season 1 judges, fashion designer Rajo Laurel, also agreed that the werkroom looks "AMAZING!!!" and noticed how spacious it is.
Another known fashion designer Mark Bumgarner commented “Werkkkk” on the post.
Furthermore, some fans noticed the Anastasia Beverly Hills logo on the Werkroom's shelves, which implies that the international make-up brand might be this season's cosmetics partner. Last year it was One Size owned by Filipino makeup artist Patrick Starrr.
Drag Race Philippines season 2 is the first Filipino season to feature transgender Pinays. Meanwhile, Paolo Ballesteros will return as host, with Jiggly Caliente, KaladKaren, and Rajo Laurel as judges.
Drag Race Philippines will be available for streaming on August 2 on HBO Go.
