OPPO A96 launches in the Philippines
OPPO officially launched the OPPO A96 smartphone, its most powerful A-series yet in the Philippines, on Wednesday (May 4).
Designed specifically with mobile gamers in mind, the A96 is equipped with 8GB RAM, 256GB of storage, a 5000 mAh battery, and 33W SUPERVOOC flash charging technology for a more optimized battery life.
“Mobile gamers always want the best possible experience whenever they play. As we launch the ‘Designed to be Powerful’ A96, we deliver Filipinos with a value-for-money device that exhibits powerful performance for their gaming and even productivity," said Chiqui Tapawan, Head of Marketing Communitcations of OPPO Philippines.
"We are looking forward to further innovating our A-Series line to meet the needs of mobile gamers,” added Tapawan.
The OPPO A96 comes in two colors, Starry Black and Pearl Pink, with its back panel having a striking and smooth frosted matte finish, housing the dual 50MP camera module.
The OPPO A96 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G mobile platform, and for those who always run out of storage space, the device allows a micro SD card expansion of up to 1 TB.
With a 1080x2412 FHD resolution, the A96 is built with All-day AI Eye Comfort that improves screen visibility if users are in dim or dark environments.
Another gaming-centric feature of the OPPO A96 is that it comes with dual speakers for immersive audio, with a high-fidelity DIRAC HD audio technology, which allows better sound quality.
The built-in battery allows users to stay powered enough for the daily grind and long gaming sessions into the night. With just five minutes of charging, the A96 can power three hours and 38 minutes of phone calls, or an hour and 34 minutes of watching YouTube videos.
While the A96 is primarily targetted for mobile gamers, the specs make it a powerful smartphone for day to day use, photos, and even content creation.
For those fond of taking selfies and vlogs for social media, the phone enables Air Gestures to manage the device.
The OPPO A96 is priced at P15,999 in the Philippines. Starting Thursday, May 5, the A96 will officially be available on Oppo’s Lazada Online Store. Those who order from May 5 to 9 can nab limited time freebies including an OPPO Enco W11 and P400 off store-wide voucher.
The OPPO A96 will be available in all OPPO Brand Stores nationwide starting May 8.
Along with the launch of the A96, OPPO also announced its first major gaming event in over two years—the Game on Cup 2022: A96 Mobile Legends Tournament.
The tournament will give 128 teams from the OPPO Game On Community a chance to compete in the game Mobile Legends for cash prizes. Registration opens from May 4 to 18, 2022 with the play-offs happening in June.
