Good news, Spider-Man fans! The ever-goofy yet mighty superhero, Peter Parker is set to return to big screens and will still be portrayed by Tom Holland.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studio’s president Kevin Feige revealed that another Spider-Man movie is currently in the works.
“All I will say is that we have the story,” he revealed, adding, “We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”
Back in 2021, film producer Amy Pascal also revealed that they have much in store for future Spider-Man movies, with Holland still playing the titular role.
She said in the interview, "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," she said, adding, "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home premiered in December 2021 and became one of the biggest hit films of Marvel Studios, garnering over $1 billion in sales worldwide despite the still-easing pandemic restrictions at that time.
This is also when the iconic Spider-Man moment, where the other two Peter Parkers portrayed by Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield teamed up with Holland for the project.
Other than Spider-Man, Feige also revealed other MCU films currently in works, such as Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts both to be released in 2024, and Deadpool 3, which he referred to as the MCU’s “first R-rated" movie.
Holland has starred in three Spider-Man films since 2017. First was 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, then in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the latest in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
He was first introduced as the new actor for Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War released in 2016.
