Singapore airport to hold free Taylor Swift singalong event, give out friendship bracelets ahead of 'Eras' shows

A major airport in Singapore is holding a free Taylor Swift singalong event on March 1—ahead of the American pop superstar's six-day show in the country.

Changi Airport is inviting Swifties to attend “BeJEWELed,” which will be held at the Jewel Changi Airport where the indoor green haven Shiseido Forest Valley is situated.

It said that the event, which references Swift’s 2022 song of the same title, is set to be “the largest Swifties event in Singapore ever.”

The management noted how Swift landed at the airport 13 years ago and how she was “amazed to see a forest in Terminal 3’s arrival hall.”

“But as you already know, we now have a newer and more impressive forest right in the middle of Jewel Changi Airport,” it said.

The event will take place starting 7:30 p.m. and is expected to end at 10 p.m. Local acts Joie Tan and 53A will perform Swift’s hits at the event. Changi will also give free friendship bracelets to attendees.

Interested parties must register at the “BeJEWELed” website on or before Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:59 p.m.

Changi noted that it's just an initial registration, which doesn’t guarantee attendance at the event yet. One must wait to receive an email notification that contains the link for official registration where they’d secure tickets to the event.

The minimum age for entry is 7, and participants under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Changi also clarified that Swift won’t be part of the event itself. The event is not an official promotion of Swift nor endorsed by the organizers of her The Eras Tour.

The Singapore leg of The Eras Tour will be held on March 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 at the National Stadium.

Swift announced Singapore as her only Southeast Asian stop for the tour in June 2023. General tickets for the 6-day concert went on sale on July 7, and were all sold out on the same day. Additional tickets were made available in January this year, but they were only offered to selected Swifties.

The performer announced The Eras Tour in November 2022, describing it as a journey through the musical eras of her career thus far. It's set to conclude in August 2024.
