New movies in Philippine cinemas this March 2022

With the shift to Alert Level 1, all indoor cinemas or movie houses have been given to go-signal to operate at full capacity starting March 1, 2022.

Individuals 18 years old and above will still be required to present proof of full vaccination when entering cinemas. Minors aged 17 and below are allowed entry to the mall and shall not be required to present proof of vaccination status.

Popcorn and drinks are back as well. Based on the latest government guidelines and cinema advisories, moviegoers must wear face masks at all times except when eating and drinking. Snacks and drinks are now allowed inside the theater in areas under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022.

In case you missed it on the big screen or want to rewatch it, Spider-Man: No Way Home is still showing in some theaters nationwide.

The biggest blockbusters on the big screen this month will see Robert Pattinson suiting up as The Batman and Jared Leto’s Marvel superhero pic Morbius, which has ties to the Spider-Man universe. 

There are a couple of kid-friendly flicks as well including Disney’s Turning Red and Sonic the Hedgehog. Check out what’s coming soon in Philippine cinemas this March 2022.

The Batman

Release date: March 2, 2022

Vengeance has arrived in cinemas. Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman in the 2022 reboot film of the Batman franchise. 

Batman ventures into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator's plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.

Turning Red

Release date: March 10, 2022

Walt Disney and Pixar’s coming of age fantasy film, Turning Red tells the story of Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl who is torn between being her mother's obedient daughter and the chaos of her youth. As if that were not enough, when she gets too excited, she turns into a big red panda.

The film, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 10 in local theaters, is also scheduled to be released on Disney Plus in countries where the service is available.

Ambulance

Release date: March 16, 2022

Directed and produced by Michael Bay, Universal Pictures latest action thriller Ambulance stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Eiza Gonzalez. Ambulance follows two adoptive siblings turned bank robbers who steal an ambulance occupied by a paramedic and a police officer in critical condition. 

Paw Patrol: The Movie

Release date: March 16, 2022

PAW Patrol: The Movie, based on the kid’s television series PAW Patrol, will see Ryder and his crew of pups facing a new challenge. They must stop Mayor Humdinger from wreaking havoc in Adventure City.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Release date: March 30, 2022

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove that he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of a mystical emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

Morbius

Release date: March 30, 2022

Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but when his experiment goes wrong, he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.
