The Philippine anime adaptation of Trese is included in a new Netflix teaser of upcoming anime shows set to be released this year.

In a video posted by @NXOnNetflix on Twitter on Sunday (April 4), fans got a sneak peek at upcoming anime shows coming in 2021 through a snippet reel, including a quick shot from Trese at the very end of the minute-long video.

"From the hottest new releases to never before seen originals, there's more exciting anime coming your way in 2021," read the post by Netflix’s Twitter account for all things geek.

The highly-anticipated anime series is based on the award-winning Filipino fantasy, crime-horror comic book created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. The story, which is set in Manila, follows Alexandra Trese, a detective who deals with crimes of supernatural origin in a city where mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding among humans.

Netflix previously gave fans the first look at the at the upcoming Filipino Netflix anime series last October 2020.

In March this year, it was revealed that Filipina actress Liza Soberano (Alone Together) would voice the lead character of Alexandra Trese in the Filipino version, while Filipino-Canadian actress Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars) will lend her voice to the English version of the anime.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to screenshot the clip and share it while retweeting the video to express their excitement. The official Facebook page of Trese Comics also shared the screenshot of the clip which features a younger-looking Alexandra Trese, minus her trademark hairstyle, which garnered various reactions from readers.

"15 y-old Alex from Trese 3 mass murders or possibly younger pa," commented one reader.

"I'm feeling some Azula vibes! Verry Niiice!," said another.

"Medyo malayo sa comic art style but I'll take it," reads one comment.

Other exciting Netflix anime shows featured in the video teaser clip include The Way of the Househusband, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, High Rise Invasion, Baki Hanma, Spriggan, Japan Sinks, DOTA: Dragon's Blood, Godzilla Singular Point, and Castlevania, to name a few.

No official date yet has been announced for the premiere of Trese, but we can expect it to hit the streaming platform sometime this 2021.
